My previous post linked this article which I saw a couple of days ago but didn’t post…

Messing with ads in subways is becoming an artform, but this “Photoshopping” of ads in Berlin takes things to the next level by creating a Photoshop interface with stickers. This is pitch-perfect adbusting right here.

I love the idea and execution on this project. Click on the source link for more.

The magnets have the look of CS3 on a Mac, and include a number of contextual windows, palettes, and the all-important menu bar for creating the perfect fake destop. They retail for $65-95 depending on size and number of magnets, and can be found at the designers’ website.

I want these for my workspace… but damn $60-$80?! We’re creative design people… WE’LL MAKE OUR OWN… up to CS4 specs!

In the spirit of Super Boring Weekend (who cares), I’m posting up this Vimeo of Tish and I on our way to a CHARGERS game. We stopped by the WaMu in Mission Valley to grab some cash and discovered the loudest ATM machine…

After yesterday’s story that we had found evidence of an unreleased iPhone had been spotted in recent firmware as well as ad delivery networks, PinchMedia follows up with what few details they have about the usage of the device.
- 1st spotting of the “iPhone 2,1” device occured in early October 2008
- Usage picked up in mid-December 2008
- A few dozen distinct “iPhone 2,1” devices have been detected
- Almost exclusively located in south San Francisco Bay Area
- Both AT&T and Wi-Fi connections
PinchMedia provides iPhone developers with ad serving and analytic tracking software to embed within iPhone applications. This is how the the iPhone 2,1 devices have been detected. The iPhone 2,1 model is also found in the firmware of the iPhone 2.x firmware releases as we reported yesterday.

Cliff Notes version: A new iPhone is coming because several test units have been detected in the AT&T’s network.
I’m curious to see what the new iPhone will have in terms of features… looks? Interesting.

Grabbed lunch yesterday at McDeez because Louis (Tikko, CC, NOOE) was having another McFlurry craving. Me on the other hand… usually down for anything but recently I’ve been trying to look into healthier alternatives when it comes to eating. Strike out on this one.
I really respect the recent efforts of McDonalds. Couple of months ago they added iced coffee to their menu, which I believe, as a test item to gauge reaction. I guess the response was so good that they went ahead with the master plan and installed McCafes in all McDonalds. A mini Starbucks offering cheaper Starbucks-style coffee drinks. Think of all the existing McDonalds in the US… now every location has their own coffee shop… and a brand new revenue stream. You might be thinking, “Damn, has Thomas lost his mind? He’s trippin out over McDonalds coffee!” From a business/strategy standpoint… it just boggles my mind. Also, I personally like McDonalds breakfast over what Starbucks has to offer. Too expensive in my opinion. I bet a lot of people will be making one less trip in the mornings.
Anyways…
Strike out on healthy lunch today

You don’t see this everyday… some dude straight up came in his low waist boxers and slippers. Riiiight???

All out

Louis loves his McFlurrys to bits…

Off to Starbucks we go to finish some work on the brand new Tikko website. Should be up tonight?

TIgran (Tikko, CC) later met up with us. Looks kind of sad… but you gotta make with what you got!

MacBook problems.

Panda Express for dinner. Another very successful business.

Shoutout to the FOODBEAST guys…

Khai and Joanna (NOOE) swung by the studio later on in the night for a NEVERODDOREVEN reunion/meeting. Its been a good minute since we’ve all talked about NOOE business since they just got back from Hong Kong. While in HK, they made some really good contacts and brought back some really nice stuff which we’ll will debut soon. Be on the lookout for the return!

Thats all for now… stay cool in the day and warm in the night. Stupid weather patterns.

Had a few pics taken some days ago that I didn’t get around to blogging. This post is for them.
So if you guys know Louis (Tikko, CC, NOOE) he likes to sleep a lot… who can blame him? The man works hard taking pictures of girls and gets free stuff (someone’s gotta do it and who can refuse free stuff?). Anyways, we like to take pictures when he sleeps because its become somewhat his “signature”.
Sometime in the afternoon

Wow, shoes off and everything…

He actually got up later and moved to the other lounge area. Techniques of comfort.

Thanks to Natalie and Ryan for this awesome plant (gift from our studio opening)… we love having other forms of life in the studio. (Hint: we love visitors)

This is our microwave. Louis and I picked this black beauty up at Costco for around $50. Not bad of a deal since us guys can sometimes live off microwaveable meals. Turns out this one doesn’t even have a backlit screen or pad. Might not seem like a big deal but trust… without adequate light, you can’t even see what you’re pressing without getting super close.

Heres an MTV Cribs style look at our fridge. Nothing too fancy. Definitely a man fridge. Frozen burritos, fast food sauce, soda, dip, more sauce, and leftover burritos.

Del Scorcho on EVERYTHING

We love it. You probably hate it because of its smell but put it on food and we’ll turn you into a believer: Nuoc mam aka Vietnamese fish sauce. Ok, maybe not believer but at least you can say you tried.

Tuesday’s lunch: Mom’s homemade version of Hamburger Helper and cha gio (egg rolls).

All day, errrday. Starbucks > Studio for one reason: Internet (T1 in the works)

Venti Sweetened Black Iced Tea = staple

Yea so we’ve been roughing it out the past couple days at Starbucks on Malvern. I’m working with the Tikko guys to get their brand new website up. Should be launching Friday so look out for it. Don’t take your internet for granted… life sucks.

I’m such a homeboy. Irvine has spoiled me. Its all about comfort zones I guess but for 2009 (and beyond)… I’ve made it a point to travel more. I can count all the times I’ve ever been out of state on one hand… pathetic!
1996: Washington D.C. & NYC / 8th Grade Trip
2000: Europe / Senior Class Trip
2007: NYC Revisited / Vacation
2008: Hong Kong / NEVERODDOREVEN business trip
2009…

So far, I’ve gotten a few “hotspot” recommendations… food/places. If you know of any, leave a comment.
