The X-Factor

(Post title too cool not to use… article took it straight out of my mouth!)

Uh, oops. Sorry Nikon but your D3x is now even less of a mystery. According to your own Pro magazine, the D3x will sport an FX-format, 24.5 megapixel sensor shooting 5fps at full resolution or 7fps at a reduced 10 megapixels. Nikon made a few other tweaks including an extended ISO 50-6400 range but the body design, AF, metering, and main functions remain the same as the D3. The only thing we need now is a price and confirmed release date. Back to you Nikon. One more shot detailing the features after the break, full details beyond the read link.

Louis, where you at!?

While we’re on the Nikon tip, my little brother needs a camera so I thought about giving him my current Nikon D40 (great camera btw… I give the BEST hand-me-downs) and upgrading. Been thinking about getting back into video/editing and the D90 (720p video) would be awesome to have to shoot little Vime clips for the blog and whatnot. But I don’t see this happening anytime soon… damnit. Sorry for teasing, Tim.

When Shoppers Attack

Really? Why??

(Credit: FoxNews.com)

(Credit: CNN)

Article: Wal-Mart Worker Dies When Shoppers Break Down Doors

Article: 2 men dead after shots fired in SoCal Toys ‘R’ Us

Hearing about these incidents make me hate “our people” even more. What is wrong with our society?! A person’s life for some damn off-brand LCD TVs… crappy ass laptops… old technology??? It’s not worth it. I hope those shoppers got what they wanted.

I thought these damn stores learned their lesson from past years. This is not the first Black Friday death incident. Why aren’t there preventive measures or even a organized system to handle these types of crowds??? I KNOW because I’ve been in situtations where sales were handled professionally and efficiently. Is it because it costs money to hire some security or extra staff or is it due to the laziness and irresponsible managers who are getting paid for not doing enough.

Embarassing, America.

Wake the fuck up.

Make sure you read the entire conversation.

Thanksgiving Update: My mom pulled a jook move and we ended up having a Vietnamese dinner… totally jooked me, mom. She thinks turkey is boring.

I need my stuffing fix… at least my famous stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy sandwiches!

Google, Gobble

I’m amazed at how many people still don’t know how to utilize Google for their questions… get with the times! Google is your friend!

Anyways… HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

According to all the major gadget blogs, Black Friday is kinda wah wah this year but if you still want to see what you can save money on, check out Gizmodo’s Black Friday Roundup. Yes, someone has done all the work for you.

Happy eating and to those who will be braving the lines tonight… may the force be with you.

P.S. Street Fighter is so fun… also, PlayStation Home is ridic… reviews in a later post.

Cha-Ching Chili

CoinStar is fun. Its free to use and the money you get feels like its free too. I had a little bowl of change that was collecting dust so I thought I’d cash in today… funny how we consider change insignificant or of lesser value just because its not in bill form. Thanks to CoinStar for converting my hard circle objects into a $23 Starbucks card… I’M SET!

I was feeling pretty good afterwards like I just found some money… so I bought some Hormel chili and made chili dogs for lunch (my attempt at cooking more and eating healthy).

Goose with a lil bita ‘TRRRON

The factory in action (three step process)

1. Boil (NOT in the vodka)

2. SLATHER with this

3. DESTROY (see how I tried adding pasta salad in the mix?… balance is KEY)

Louis probably smelled the chili dog fumes all the way from his shoot at Saks Fifth Avenue and came over for some ‘quality control’…

Back to work…

Furniture Adventure

Spent a good part of my Wednesday afternoon checking out some office furniture with Louis at IKEA. I know IKEA stuff is pretty “norm” nowadays and you see it everywhere… almost borderline “cheesy” if you’re IKEA furnished but hey you work with what you have (and can afford)… so can’t really complain. We will save the “We went on a designer furniture shopping spree at BO CONCEPTS” for another future entry :P

Number Munching

We also dropped by Samy’s so Louis could figure out Tikko’s setup

Samy’s has everything… almost like the Costco of cameras. Apparently Louis comes here quite a bit for rentals and what not… the staff immediately recognized him. After we were taken cared of by David, Louis asked if his dad called in earlier and more camera talk ensued. The Trinh family does not mess around.

We decided to grab a bite before NOOE meeting so went down the street to TK Burger (of course!)

I miss Costa Mesa

It was Louis’ first time

Killing time at ACTIVE…

Meeting schmeeting… goofing around

Google this…

We ARE the dancers (or used to be… Louis and I at least… Khai and Jo still dance… check out the NOOE blog to see pictures from Khai’s class in NORCAL).
