PWNAGE

I haven’t been following the latest iPhone hackery news since I temporarily switched to BB but this caught by eye today. Good news for all your non AT&T carriers aka T-Mobile iPhones!

From Gizmodo:

“The Pwnage tool by the iPhone Dev Team, which we brought you news of previously, will allow custom unsigned firmware to be flashed onto the iPhone or iPod touch, and it is set for public release tomorrow. That’s right; starting Sunday 30th the iPhone will be properly hacked, allowing for custom firmware to run, which will be very difficult for Apple to circumvent.”

The girlfriend has been waiting for this. She feels abandoned since we both got our iPhones around the same time (hacked for T-Mobile service of course!) and shes stuck running old firmware since her “Apple Support” has left for BB haha. Hmm… maybe I won’t have to switch over to AT&T after all.

3G T-Mobile iPhone anyone?

UPDATE

So Pwned was delayed… but I still managed to get my girlfriend’s iPhone up to date with 1.1.4 firmware.

3G in May?

YOU MIGHT WIN SOME…

Just completed another project for JONARI and sent proofs in for revision. I was hoping to finish a little earlier so I could treat myself to some Yogurtland… but they’re now closed. Been having mad cravings for it lately.

I used to get it several times a week but I’ve been on a pretty long YL hiatus. The other day, the girlfriend and I decided it was a good time for a reunion but unfortunately they were closed. Still have yet to try Pinkberry… from what I hear, those who have tried both YL and PB have liked YL better (underdog mentality perhaps?). Recently, a few of those people have jumped ship claiming PB now tastes better! I will have to see for myself.

Oh, theres now a Yogurtworld in San Diego? Too many yogurt joints popping up… everyones trying to ride. I wonder what the next big thing is gonna be… fast food Pho? cereal bars? soup cafes? nacho shops? Mmm.

Tomorrow it is.

MACBOOK PORN

I love and appreciate Apple as much as the next fanboy but this guy takes it to the next level. My MacBook Pro unboxing was nothing compared to this one…

Maybe I’m not devoted enough!? *Bows down to the Steveness*

BAT EYES

I’m currently blind as a bat now without my contacts. Things are a little blurry unless I get real close. Having a laptop is cool since I can get as close as I want to the screen… no problem! I’ve always wondered how some people managed to maintain their 20/20 vision or are they just ok enough to not require optical assistance. My girlfriend is almost considered legally blind. Lasik surgery is definitely on the list for the both of us… but then again glasses do make you look smart(ER THAN YOU ALREADY ARE).

Check out some randoms around the room. I literally have to get this close to be able to see clearly. Sad.

Wires = Stress!

Hump Day.

CALIFORNIA LIFESTYLE

Stunna Shades Awwnn! (Thanks Tish… LOL)

The weather has been pretty unforgiving lately… so hot nowadays! Today was my first day back at work since HK. Feels weird in a way. Back to the 9-5, back to the daily grind, back to the monotony… Irvine and HK are definitely at different ends of the spectrum.

Had lunch with my sister Kathy today who is continuing her grad studies at SCCO (Southern California College of Optometry) in Fullerton.

Chipotle Crispy Tacos, no looking back!

So packed!

Reppin’ UCSD!

I miss my iPhone camera!!!

HK RECAP: DAY ONE & TWO

As promised, here is the Hong Kong recap… 10 days, over 2000 pictures… all summarized into a series of posts (ONE would be too much!). This is DAY ONE AND TWO… lets go! Sorry So Sloppy.

DAY ONE: 14 HOURS OF HELL

Never wear jeans on a 14 hour flight… your thighs will thank you later. First day was pretty much spent traveling overseas. Not much action. Lots of uncomfortable mini plane naps and time checking. Next time we are paying a little more for first class!

LAX in the distance

Hold your breath

Jo likes triple cheeseburgers

Chicken lunch

A little snack

Entourage and Mario Kart

Crappy naps

I ran out of things to do… OMG K-FED IS SOOO FAT BTW

Lasagna dinner

Finally!

YES!

Oh… all of it? OK!

We left LA around noon Monday and landed in HK 6pm Tuesday… so it was kinda like we were in the future when compared to USA time (coooool). We really didn’t get into the city and to our hotel until 8ish though. So we pretty much lost a day. We didn’t have much on the agenda besides situating ourselves, roaming the streets for a bit, and grabbing dinner.

Quick meeting

Dinner… their Pizza Hut is nuts!

DAY TWO: HK IN THE DAY

HK is pure nuts. It feels like you’re stuck in Times Square no matter where you go. Bright lights, big signs, red taxi cabs everywhere, and shitloads of people. On the second day, we dipped our feet a little in the pool that is HK shopping. Made our first business purchase and then some. All the stores here are really small… about the size of a nice walk-in closet… and there are hundreds of them squeezed inside these multi-level malls. Oh and most if not all stores don’t open until 12 noon which made for a nice excuse to sleep in a bit.

Pretty peaceful looking there, Louis

Morning meeting

Capturing some HD

HK in the day

Genki Sushi for lunch

Shop

Joanna broke necks all day!

Back to the hotel

Probably the only SSBB in HK!

So back at the hotel, we got ready for dinner with Jo’s aunt who actually lives in HK. Aunty Gail wanted us to meet her at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club where we had a full out buffet of Indian curry. In order to be proper and well mannered individuals, we held back on taking any kind of pictures. It sucked because we literally ate dinner with the HK skyline looking down on us.

Hungry faces

Snuck a shot :P

Meeting back at the hotel

… to be continued.

MALFUNCTIONS

I apologize for the lack of updates. Our hotel internet has been a real disappointment. Wireless sucks and even the business center ethernet is sloooooooow. They call this executive treatment!? So unless we find an internet cafe close by… the updates will have to wait!

We have been walking around a lot, eating some really good food, and taking in a lot of the HK sights and sounds. Louis is having a field day with the photography and we expect to post up some really nice shots.

HK is dope. Everything is so fast paced… and CLEAN. Definitely puts US to shame…. damn we suck.

We all know that photos make a blog post so here are a few pictures I managed to upload onto Flickr.

Kanye is in Hong Kong!
